The next march "In the Footsteps of the 82nd Airborne Division" is scheduled for next February 24, 2018 in the steps of the 505PIR and 551PIB starting at Mont-Saint-Jacques (Trois-Ponts).

Preparation work before the march
Travail de preparation avant la marche

All is starting with a mountain bike recce of the itinerary with one or two teammates from my Bicycling team, sometime somewhat acrobatic. (around January)
Tout commence par une reconnaissance de l'itinéraire en mountain bike (VTT) avec un ou deux membres de mon club cycliste, Parfois quelque peu accrobatique. (vers le mois de Janvier)

Then, the day before the march, we made the marking of the complete itenerary with a samll party. This also is a lot of work to mark the paths and clean it of the falling trees etc... Thanks to this we never lost a marcher.
Ensuite, le jour avant la marche, nous faisons le marquage complet de l'itineraire avec un petit groupe. Ceci aussi est un gros travail pour marquer les chemins et enlever les arbres tombés etc... Grâce à cela nous n'avons jamais perdu un seul marcheur.

07H00 in the morning, breakfast at Wanne CP. - 07H00 du matin, déjeuner au PC de Wanne.

The sun is rising and it's time to go. - Le soleil se lève et il est temps de partir.

At Wanne, the troops assemble as to reach the start - A Wanne la troupe se rassemble pour se rendre au départ.

Early morning, the English reenactment group billeted with us at the Wanne Castel CP is assembling before to be trucked toward the Starting point. This group is participating each year to the march since about 20 years and is always growing in participation.
Tôt le matin, le groupe de reconstitution Anglais qui logeait avec nous au PC du Château de wanne se rassemble avant d'être transpoté par camion vers le point de départ. Ce groupe participe chaque année à la marche depuis presque 20 ans avec toujours plus de participants.
